Areté Dance Center was created to provide excellent dance instruction in an aesthetic and inspiring environment in our Los Altos dance studio. Our dance instructors are artists with very deep backgrounds in the styles of dance they teach.

Rebecca Bishop

Originally from San Jose, Rebecca has a deep background in classical ballet and ballroom dance. Rebecca holds her certification in latin dance from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, is a past competitor in the professional latin division and currently choreographs and presents work in several different dance genres. Rebecca teaches International Standard Ballroom lessons and much more at Areté.

Kris Mola

A lifetime of experience in classical ballet and modern dance brought Kris to pursue ballroom dancing. In addition to training the outstanding community of dancers within Areté Dance Center, she also heads ADC’s ballet program. Kris has a BFA in dance.

Mark Scolieri

Mark is well known in the dance community for his expertise in many styles of partner dancing.  He is a classically trained dancer who also has studied jazz and theater arts extensively.  Mark also teaches and judges competitions for the Bay Area’s large ballroom community and beyond.

Yuriy Kuvshynov

Introduced to ballroom dance through introductory classes in Foothill College, Yuriy has been teaching since 2012. His goal is to help people understand the reasoning behind the different techniques and patterns of dancing and through it find their inner artist. Yuriy teaches International Standard ballroom and more.

Diane Allison

Diane was originally inspired in the arts by her parents who were both classically trained Juilliard musicians.  A passionate dancer and instructor, Diane and her husband John compete locally in both the Standard and Latin divisions, and were champions in the International Standard Bronze division at the Berkeley Classic 2017.
